Steve is an experienced MBA-qualified sports and events industry professional with global experience having lived and worked in both Australia and the USA. His experience spans more than 28 years leading the development and management of sports facilities and major event stadia projects, major event overlay design and operations, global business strategy and commercialization, commercial negotiation and procurement, and stakeholder management and advocacy. Steve has an undergraduate degree and a Master of Business – Sport Management.

During his career in Australia, Steve held senior sports marketing, venue/project management, and sports facility development positions at Tennis Australia/Australian Open, and as the Asia/Pacific head of California Sports Surfaces. In his key roles as Tennis Australia’s National Facility Development Manager and Project Manager for the $1b Melbourne Park Redevelopment Project, Steve worked on tennis facility projects and events in Australia, China, Singapore, Guam, and North America, and contributed to the development of the Australian Open brand into China and other Asian markets. 

At the end of 2017, Steve transferred with his family to the USA and served as Global Vice-President of California Sports Surfaces where he led a global team responsible for strategic growth of market-leading sports surface brands. While in the US also, Steve was Senior Sports and Event Consultant for Raleigh, NC-based Stewart Inc, where he attracted clients including, the Atlanta Open, Dallas Open, and American Cricket Enterprises/USA Cricket. 

Steve’s direct exposure to global sports events includes the Australian Open & Australian Open Series tournaments, US Open & US Open Series tournaments, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the Laver Cup, and the Women’s Tennis Association Finals.
